"Once they are in a courtroom, they are focused on one thing only and that is presenting a terrific case and getting the biggest possible verdict they can."

Trial lawyer Wes Ball is known for his commanding presence in the courtroom and his ability to translate complex, high-stakes litigation into clear, compelling narratives for juries. He was named 2023 Trial Lawyer of the Year by Public Justice and, the following year, Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyer of the Year by The National Trial Lawyers Association – an uncommon consecutive-year distinction reflecting both the caliber and consistency of his results. He has also been selected to Texas Super Lawyers each year since he became eligible.

Widely recognized for his disciplined trial strategy and success in automotive-defect litigation, Mr. Ball is in the midst of one of the most dominant runs in high-stakes litigation today. In his most recent jury trials, he and his team secured verdicts of $976 million in a seatbelt-defect case against Mitsubishi Motors, $220 million in a tire-defect wrongful-death case against Michelin North America, $49 million in the Sandy Hook defamation case against Alex Jones, and $31 million in a catastrophic trucking case – extraordinary outcomes against some of the world’s largest and most sophisticated defendants. These results reflect a rare ability to take the hardest cases to trial – and win when the stakes are highest.

Mr. Ball focuses his practice on product-liability litigation involving vehicle and tire manufacturers, handling cases arising from tire failures, rollover incidents, airbag and seatbelt defects, seat failures, fuel-fed fires, and other design and manufacturing defects. His work has helped expose systemic safety failures and drive meaningful accountability across the automotive industry.

Having tried cases in more than ten states and in federal courts nationwide, Mr. Ball is widely regarded as one of the nation’s premier courtroom advocates. He currently serves as President of the Attorneys Information Exchange Group (AIEG), a national organization of elite trial lawyers dedicated to advancing strategy and outcomes in litigation involving dangerous and defective products. In addition to his product-liability practice, he represents clients in complex commercial disputes, defamation matters, and catastrophic-injury cases involving traumatic brain injuries, paralysis, and amputations.

Defendants frequently attempt to prevent Mr. Ball from entering a case at the outset of litigation – a measure of the resources, experience, and institutional knowledge he brings to trial, and of how seriously his presence is taken by corporate opponents.

Beyond the courtroom, Mr. Ball is a frequent national speaker and CLE presenter on trial strategy and case development. Outside of his legal work, he is an accomplished tarpon fly fisherman who competes in tournaments and travels to premier fishing destinations around the world.
